How ZooZoom Consolidated Two Mozello Stores Into One WooCommerce B2C + B2B Platform

ZooZoom operated two separate eCommerce websites on Mozello. The project objective was to consolidate two stores into one, migrate the business to WooCommerce, modernize the B2C experience, introduce B2B/wholesale capabilities, integrate Resico ERP and create a substantially more flexible foundation for future eCommerce growth.

Challenge

The Challenge

The Starting Point

ZooZoom operated two separate eCommerce websites on Mozello. The setup was inexpensive and simple to maintain, but significantly limited in functionality, integrations, customization, marketing capabilities and future optimization opportunities.

What the Client Believed Was Wrong

ZooZoom wanted to move beyond the limitations of its existing websites and create a more capable eCommerce environment. The challenge was not simply visual—the business needed infrastructure capable of supporting B2C, B2B, ERP integration and future growth initiatives that were difficult to implement within the existing setup.

What Had Already Been Tried

ZooZoom had successfully operated two relatively simple Mozello websites. The problem was not that the stores were completely unusable; rather, the business had reached the point where the simplicity of the existing setup also became its limitation.

Why It Needed Attention

The existing Mozello setup had become too restrictive for ZooZoom’s future ambitions, while the LIAA / EU financing programme created an opportunity to invest in a more advanced eCommerce infrastructure.

Risk of Doing Nothing

ZooZoom would remain dependent on a simple but limited eCommerce infrastructure, restricting its ability to introduce advanced B2B functionality, ERP integrations, marketing automation, analytics, CRO and custom eCommerce functionality.

Constraints That Shaped the Solution

The new platform needed to replace two existing websites with one environment, support both B2C and B2B customers, provide wholesale functionality and connect with Resico ERP. The ERP integration also proved substantially more technically complex than originally expected.

What Success Needed to Mean

One modern eCommerce environment capable of serving both retail and wholesale customers, with a stronger visual experience and significantly greater flexibility than the previous Mozello setup. The new site is live and has received positive feedback on its design.

Our Approach

  • What the Evidence Showed

The main limitation was architectural rather than purely visual. Mozello provided simplicity and low operating cost, but ZooZoom’s growth ambitions required functionality that the previous environment could not easily support—including wholesale eCommerce, ERP integration, advanced analytics, CRO, automation and more sophisticated marketing.

  • What We Prioritized First

The eCommerce foundation: consolidate the stores, establish WooCommerce, enable B2C/B2B functionality and connect the ERP. Advanced CRO, email automation and growth initiatives make more sense after the underlying infrastructure is operational and reliable.

  • How We Delivered It

WD Market consolidated the two previous eCommerce environments into one WooCommerce platform, created a modern B2C experience, developed B2B/wholesale functionality and connected the platform with Resico ERP. The ERP integration required additional investigation, workarounds and custom development when the expected plug-and-play implementation proved significantly more complex in practice.

  • How the Engagement Evolved

The biggest unexpected development was the Resico ERP integration. It was initially expected to be relatively straightforward because an existing integration solution was said to be available. During implementation, WD Market discovered that required functionality was missing or did not behave as expected, requiring substantially more investigation, alternative solutions and custom development.

Strategy

Strategic Decisions

  • WD Market team member at work

    Recommendation

No major reversal. The client’s objective of moving toward a more capable eCommerce infrastructure was correct. WD Market’s role was to design and implement the appropriate WooCommerce architecture rather than simply visually redesign the existing Mozello websites.

  • WD Market team around a laptop

What We Deliberately Did Not Recommend

We did not simply redesign the two existing Mozello stores while preserving the same underlying limitations. The project was approached as an eCommerce infrastructure transformation, not just a visual refresh.

  • WD Market specialists in discussion

Rebuild / Redesign / Spend Decision

Migrating was justified. The existing platform’s simplicity was useful, but it could not efficiently support the level of B2B, integration and future eCommerce functionality ZooZoom wanted.

Results We Delivered

  • Measured Results

2 legacy eCommerce environments consolidated into 1 WooCommerce platform, with a new B2C experience, dedicated B2B/wholesale functionality and Resico ERP integration. The platform is live.

  • Evidence and Metrics

2 separate Mozello websites → 1 WooCommerce ecosystem. The new platform includes B2C + B2B/wholesale functionality + Resico ERP integration.

  • What the Client Gained Beyond the Metric

ZooZoom gained substantially more than a redesigned storefront. The business now has an eCommerce foundation capable of supporting B2B growth, wholesale functionality, ERP connectivity, advanced analytics, email automation, CRO and custom functionality—capabilities that were difficult or impossible within the previous environment.
