The Challenge

The Starting Point

Vegan Fox operated an older eCommerce website that was slow, outdated, visually dated, and in need of both technical and eCommerce improvements. WD Market developed a new WooCommerce eCommerce website, after which the relationship evolved from a one-time development project into long-term technical support and continuous optimization.

What the Client Believed Was Wrong

The initial challenge was the overall quality of the existing eCommerce platform: performance, technology, visual presentation, and the ability to support the business effectively online. After the new website was launched, the challenge shifted from rebuilding to continuously improving individual parts of the customer journey.

What Had Already Been Tried

Vegan Fox already had an eCommerce website before WD Market, but it had become technically and visually outdated. WD Market replaced this with a new WooCommerce platform and has since continuously improved areas such as checkout and product pages.

Why It Needed Attention

The original website needed modernization. After the rebuild, the business recognized that eCommerce performance requires continuous improvement rather than treating the new website as a finished one-time project. The relationship has therefore gradually expanded into ongoing maintenance and CRO.

Risk of Doing Nothing

The store could continue operating, but unnecessary friction and missed commercial opportunities would remain across checkout, cart, product pages, upsells, reviews, and post-purchase interactions. The website would gradually become reactive maintenance rather than an actively optimized eCommerce channel.

Constraints That Shaped the Solution

Improvements need to be commercially proportionate to the size of the eCommerce business. Rather than large one-time investments, the stronger model is often to divide improvements into smaller, clearly justified phases that can be implemented and measured progressively.

What Success Needed to Mean

A stable eCommerce platform that continuously becomes easier to use and more commercially effective, supported by a partner who proactively identifies opportunities instead of waiting for the client to specify every development task.

Our Approach

  • What the Evidence Showed

The strongest opportunity is not another large redesign but continuous incremental CRO. Individual areas such as product pages, side cart, checkout, Thank You page, upsells, reviews, bundles, mobile UX, navigation, conversion messaging, and trust elements can each create opportunities to reduce friction or increase order value.

  • What We Prioritized First

The initial priority was replacing the slow, technically outdated eCommerce website with a new WooCommerce store. After launch, technical support and maintenance helped keep the platform reliable, while checkout and product-page improvements addressed specific parts of the customer journey.

  • How We Delivered It

WD Market initially developed the new WooCommerce store and then remained involved through technical support, maintenance, bug fixing, development, checkout optimization, and product-page improvements. The relationship now follows an ongoing Analyze → Prioritize → Improve → Measure approach rather than relying on occasional large redesign projects.

  • How the Engagement Evolved

The relationship evolved from website development → technical support → recurring maintenance → continuous CRO partnership. As individual customer-journey opportunities were identified, work expanded beyond technical maintenance into checkout optimization, product pages, side cart, post-purchase experience, upsells, reviews, and other conversion-focused initiatives.

Strategy

Strategic Decisions

  • WD Market developers reviewing code

    Recommendation

The initial website modernization was necessary. Since then, WD Market has shifted the emphasis toward smaller, evidence-based improvements rather than repeatedly proposing large redesigns.

What We Deliberately Did Not Recommend

We do not recommend repeatedly redesigning large parts of the website when smaller, higher-impact CRO improvements can be implemented instead. We also avoid trying to replace existing advertising or email marketing partners where there is no clear business reason to do so.

Rebuild / Redesign / Spend Decision

The stronger strategy for the current stage of the business is incremental CRO: identify a specific opportunity, improve it, measure the impact, and then prioritize the next initiative rather than committing to another major rebuild.

Results We Delivered

  • Measured Results

Turnover +33.9% YoY in 2024, followed by another +25.5% YoY increase in 2025. The business also moved from negative to positive profitability in 2025, while WD Market continued improving the eCommerce experience through CRO and technical optimization.

  • Evidence and Metrics

Company financial data shows strong year-over-year improvement alongside the eCommerce and optimization partnership. Turnover increased +33.9% in 2024 and a further +25.5% in 2025. Profitability also improved materially, with the company moving from a loss in 2024 to profit in 2025. On the eCommerce side, WD Market has continuously reduced customer-journey friction through checkout, product-page, side-cart, and post-purchase CRO improvements.

  • What the Client Gained Beyond the Metric

Beyond strong business growth, Vegan Fox gained a long-term WooCommerce and CRO partner responsible for continuously identifying friction, proposing improvements, maintaining the platform, and developing the customer journey rather than treating eCommerce as a one-time website project.

  • +33.9% Turnover 2024 Year over year.
  • +25.5% Turnover 2025 A further year-over-year increase.
  • Profit 2025 From a loss in 2024 to profit in 2025.
